Race to Rio Winners Return
Here at Las Iguanas we have a lot to give and we give a lot! Generosity is an important trait which is why we send a number of our fantastic people to Rio de Janeiro every single year.
This famous trip is like no other, with seven days and nights all expenses paid in a country that has so inspired our dishes, our cocktails and the look of our restaurants’ interior. Our winners of our annual ‘Race to Rio’ incentive have their very own tour guide! They also have a jam packed itinerary that sees them visit our very own Cachaça farm, the LATA Foundation ballet school in the Favelas, Christ the Redeemer and much more.
Magnifica Cachaça Farm
We use our very own Cachaça! Made in the mountains near Rio by master Cachaça maker Jaos Luiz, it really is unlike any other. We are proud of our extensive Caipirinha menu and the authentic roots of the Magnifica we have shipped over from Rio. Our Rio winners are given the opportunity to learn more about our Magnifica Cachaça, with a full guided tour of the farm and demonstrations of how it is made.
Ballet School Visit
Las Iguanas also love to give to charity! We have helped the LATA foundation to fund a number of projects over the years with one of the most successful being Projeto Vidançar based in Rio. Here, many children of poverty who live in and around the Favelas can enjoy dance classes in an environment that is safe and clean. Many dancers have even gone on to dance professionally in Brazil!
As you can see from this year’s Rio photographs, the family feel is real here at Las Iguanas. We love to have fun, be generous to one another and are passionate about Latin food and hospitality. It is our passionate people and the passion we feel for our people that have enabled us to succeed and thrive as a restaurant.
See what some of the Rio goers have to say about their trip to Rio!
