The annual Las Iguanas awards ceremony is the most talked about date in our calendar. This isn’t your average awards ceremony; it’s bigger and better every year with an ever changing theme, this is our version of the Oscars to celebrate the shining stars of the previous year.

We recognise that people work for people and throughout the 25 years since Las Iguanas was founded we have never lost sight of this. We honestly believe we work with the best people in the industry and in order for this to continue we need make sure our team feel appreciated and supported. As well as our Managers having the potential to earn bonuses we are proud to say that 100% of all tips go to the team members.
We celebrate the great work and successes of our teams and we like to inject fun and energy into every working day. Throughout the year we have a range of incentives, competitions, trips away and the odd fancy dress event which the whole company get involved with. Our Management and team motivation is so important to us that we are one of the only hospitality companies to employ a ‘communications and motivation Manager’ who’s responsible for all the incentives, competitions, engagement and motivation of our teams.
Communication is key, and with our growth over the last couple of years we work hard to maintain the family feel across the brand and keep everyone, from all the teams, connected. We’ve done this by creating our Las Iguanas Community page – it’s become part of everyday life at Iguanas and it’s a great place to share success, help each other out and have some good old banter!

We believe that training is a right and not a luxury and we are here to support you in becoming the best team member or Manager you can be. While we recognise that not everyone wants progression, if it’s as important to you as it is to us then we will put a plan in place to support you in getting to where you want to be.
Training our team to the highest standard is key in ensuring our guests receive the best experience possible. It’s simply really; it is our job to provide you with the training and tools to enable you to keep our guests returning.
As a new team member you will receive 1 week training followed by continuous coaching and training sessions. As a support manager you will receive a 4 week training plan in your own site tailored specifically to you. That’s right, each new Manager receives a personal training plan!
As the head honcho of your site, General Managers and Head Chefs receive 5 weeks training. You are paired with a Senior General Manager or Head Chef from your regional training site. All of our FOH management training is endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management.
We believe that continuous training and development is crucial for your career. Our policy at Las Iguanas is to promote from within wherever possible and we don’t recruit externally for positions until we have looked for the potential people in the business. We have many tools in place to help support you in developing to the next level, including a schedule of Management development workshop days, your own Development Passport, development sessions with your Operations Manager, and a full management development programme to name just a few!
The stats speak for themselves, 70% of our restaurants are run by General Managers who have been developed from within the company, in the last year 152 of our people have been promoted internally, 5 out of 7 of our Operations Managers have come up through the Las Iguanas ranks, 100% of our training team and training Managers are internal to name but a few.
Fresh Food and Drink
Join the Fresh Revolution! Each day over 20 sauces are made from scratch by our passionate chefs; our food is fresh, authentic and full of flavour. We look to change our menu twice a year, with our development chefs working hard to bring more authentic and inspiring food to the menu.
We are not only proud of our delicious fresh food but also our cocktails that take your taste buds to the golden shores of Brazil! All of our cocktails are made freshly in the restaurants by our experienced bartenders. We have our own sugar cane field in Brazil which is managed by our friend Joao Luiz, he is the master who creates our very own branded cachaça, the spirit that goes into our legendary Caiprhinia.
We are not a company that likes to stand still, we are constantly looking at new ways to develop and improve and this is evident in our food and drink. We encourage our people to get involved in the Bar and BOH challenge, that occurs twice a year. This is a great opportunity for our people to bring out their creative side, by creating a tantalizing dish or a zesty drink! The winning dish and drink of this challenge are added to our menu, for all our guests to enjoy. Not only do you get to burst with pride that you developed a drink or dish on a national company menu, but we reward you with a prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
